about
'Come Back To Me’ is a song about not wanting to let go of someone you love, but knowing you have no other choice. There’s an innocence to it, a bittersweet hope, yet it’s about growing up. When I first wrote it, I discarded it and labelled it ‘juvenile’ but I found myself going back to it. It became an honest reflection I had written for the sake of expression.
lyrics
Somehow I'll have to let you go
Oh I'm just a shadow
Without you around
And I wouldn't cry for anybody else
But you took me from a shelf
I didn't know I was sitting on
Come back to me
When you have changed
Come back to me
When you've been saved
The taste of you on my lips
Comes with a sweet whiskey kiss
An age old drunken abyss
We lingered too long
Maybe loved too strong
I was looking for myself in somebody else
But you were the victim this time
I promise to find myself
And then, you'll
Come back to me
When you have changed
Come back to me
When you've been saved
Come back to me
When you have changed
Come back to me
When you've been saved
